Portraits Of Native Canadians 2

Calgary Stampede 45

More of the same series. I don't know which one is my favorite. These people are beautiful and proud of their heritage.

There are still more in the Flickr set from the trip. I could post yet another day of this but maybe it's time to move on.

I vote for the first photo if you are taking outside opinions regarding which is the favorite.

They are truly remarkable shots, such striking detail and colour to their clothing and accessories.

Native Canadians, is that a term they use? It sounds perjorative. Like they didn't exist before the land was called Canada. Same thing with Native Americans. Eurocentric thinking. I like First Nation or First People much better.

@Pat: they do tend to use First Nations, mostly, or identify by tribe.
